He was a boarder before he married so prob went off looking for work in the big wid world

With the adoption, it depended on how old he was and if he could decide what name he wanted when he was adopted..older children may have kept their registered name where as babies and infants had the family names.

I find it strange edwin was a boarder on the last entry and not with his family, it is definately him, he was my great,great grandfather. I would like to go back further. Alos he married mary who i now know to be dennel and i remeber my grandfather telling me they had an adopted son called John Dennel.. strange as all the other children were rushton.
