Hi, I am trying to find information on my grandad's brother Lewis. I have found birth register DOB 1913 Name on it is Lewis Carratt. It is possible he may have changed it to Myers as it seems most of my family did (no father on birth certificate). Any info would be great any anything else on Myers/Carratt family from Spalding area would be fantastic.

just looking on the census it seems Lincoln is full of Carratts - in more ways than one I would imagine!! none in Spalding though

Oh My goodness, you guys are amazing as this all fits with what I have got but was struggling to get any further. Sorry disappeared didn't expect such quick response if any!

It's good to see that Thomas and Lucy did get married as most of the children don't have a father on their birth certificate (something my grandad was quite ashamed of and never told us). My granddad grew up in an children's home and the siblings were all split.

Any ideas of Thomas siblings? I knew there was a Benjamin and I have been told a Nell (not sure what this stands for)

Granddad also had a half brother called John Fred (known as Fred) who there were thought he could be the real biological father as thomas was pretty old when the children were born. I think Fred had siblings but don't know names.

I'll stay for a bit just in case!!!

My granddad left some paperwork on our family tree. On it he wrote that his father Thomas Myers was married before to a lady called Annie Bowker and they had 3 children John Fred (1876)(known as Fred), Robert (1874) and a Eliza (1978).

I had heard of Fred but can't find any info on Annie Bowker or the other children, not even sure they really existed!
