He had a son in Newington in 1877, and his wife is living in Newington in 1881 (she was also in Newington in 1871 living with her mother just before the wedding) |

Stephen it would help if we knew the name of the son they had in 1877. I can't find her on the 1871 census. Reading your thread again I realised that I had put the marriage up for 1872 and the couple on the 1871 census must be wrong!!!!!!! |

It will help if people look at Stephen's previous thread 1171678 where there is much more info! |

i have all the information I need now on his wife Ellen Stow. My main aim now is to trace husband Richard Miller.....to try to find his parents. I didnt add this to my other thread as I was after a completely different search - on the Millers not the Stows. The son they had waas John Miller 1877 Newington - but i think I have all the information I need on him.... I am just interested in finding Richard Miller c1842 on the 1871 census - hopfully as a mason |

Well if thats their marriage it was'nt the one I put up before which you said was their marriage. Have you got the cert for Ellen and Richard or the one for Helena Stone and Richard? |

there is an error with the marriages she is on it as Helena Stow.......but looking at it it could be transcribed as stone.........Ellen (now Miller) is with he son John and William, they are with her mother Ellen Stow in 1881. Ellen Miller is a servant. The date you have for the Ealing marriage is the same but it says Stow not stone...... Are the two certificate numbers different then???? |

can someone please check that the Helena stone marriage to richard Miller 1872 is the same certificate numbers as the Ellen Stow marrying Richard Miller 1872..............I am 99% sure they are |

I have just got back the death certificate for Richard Miller - the wandsworth one - and it is the correct one as it mentions Ellen Stows mother as the informant. Richard died age 39 in 1881 at the county lunatic asylum - it was registered in Wandswoth Surrey - it states he was a fibre weaver of St saviours. |
