Find Ancestors

Trying to find a marriage entry for Thomas Fordham b1826 and Mary Ann Roblett 1828. They both came from Hertfordshire (Royston/Buntingford/Aspenden). The first child's birth I can find for them is 1852 in Islington but of course there could be a birth before this in another area.

Gosh everybody is so quick!!

First childs name I can find is Martha b Islington 1852, my ggrandmother was the next in line 1854 (Jane). I have all the census entries accept 1851 and looking at a couple of poss before they married 1841 in Herts.

I did wonder about the 1888 marriage but cross referencing I can't pair this up with Thomas Fordham. Beginning to think she married somebody else first! or not married at all is another possibility.

They did move to Edmonton after living in Islington and lived in Tottenham until their deaths in 1902.

The Thomas Stevens Fordham and Mary Ann Hull was the nearest I got but alas right area right ages etc but not the right people.

The birth certificates I have for the chidlren all put her as Mary Ann Roblett (although at first I took this as Roberts until looking closely!!).

Heres Mary in the 1851, then about 18 months later she has Martha

Thanks Julie, the 1851 census is interesting. The Ashen is close enough to Ashenden. The age about right. Now need to try and find Thomas Fordham in 1851 to see if they were in the same area.

so all possible siblings if correct christening!

Christening in Ware = Could be. In the census he is always down as being born in St Albans, Herts. Found a Thomas Fordham in Royston, Cambridgeshire (I found out that half of Royston is in Herts and the other half was in Cambridgeshire). So this adds to the confusion as it was not until later that the area came under St Albans, so what it was when he was born I don't know.

My word Julie, you are good! I couldn't find Thomas anywhere in 1851 let alone in the same street as Mary!!! The job is right. Birth year I usually ignore and where born people usually put down where they were living so they did not get moved on. Have a feeling about this one thanks.
