Cannot find marriage, birth or death certs for either of my mother's parents. Only have birth certs of 2 children around 1918 in Birmingham. |

Anne, what is Helen's maiden name? Is it also Fisher? Also wondering who Edward Partington is! |

If you have your mothers birth cert, it should show her mothers maiden name. |

As the only electoral register taken in 1918 in Birmingham was the "Absent Voters" register I presume that the Edward Partington was probably involved in WW1 in some aspect. |

Sorry for confusion everyone who has kindly responded. Helen Vera Fisher and Edward Partington are parents of my mother and her brother. In my research the only possible clue I found was that a Walter Henry Fisher is listed as living at 17 Albert Rd, Handsworth, Birmingham in 1918, which is same address as noted on the birth cert of my mother's brother. I don't know if he is anything to do with my Vera/Helen Fisher but feel it is the only clue I have at this stage to follow up. |

There is Walter harry Fisher born Kings Norton 1888 but looking at census reports no sign of a Vera/Helen. |

If you wish to checkout the 1918 Birmingham Absent voters list you can do so online at the site below. There is a small charge but it might be worth it. You can search by name and/or address. |

Thank you, Jonesey, I think it will be useful for me to look at this site as I didn't know about it. I will try 1920 onwards as I have address for Edward Partington for 1918 and 1919. |

Thanks, Brummiejan. I did see this John and Sarah at 87 Albert Rd and I will follow up in case they are linked somehow with my Vera/Helen Fisher and possibly also the Walter Henry Fisher. |
