Trying to find Farrance

I am trying to trace any information on Leslie Farrance who was my grandfather and was born in either Chislehurst in Kent or Worthing, West Sussex around 1912. His parents were Mary Jane Teasdale and James Farrance. He married a lady called Sylvia Elizabeth, but not certain of her surname as my father's birth certificate names her as 'formerly Clifford-Paynter' so I wonder if she was widowed. I can find no details on her either! Leslie had two sisters, Elsie (born 1892) and Florence (1891) and a brother Percy (1889).

As a Farrance (Somerset) I have all the births, marriages and deaths that were registered. Also family trees from other Farrance researchers. So this is a possibilty. James born 1863 in Suffolk son of George and Lucy Jane (1881 census). Then in 1901 census there is your James also born in 1863 with Florence,Percy and Elsie and wife Mary.
In the registers I found James born 1863 and a James John married in Wandsworth 1887 -no other James marriages around that time. Leslie born 1912 was registered in Marylebone and I found a marriage in1931 to a lady surnamed Davis with a child Leslie B. Farrance born 1934.I found no marriage to anyone surnamed Clifford-Paynter but a child Brian born to Leslie and this person registered E.Preston Lancs 1934. So, were they married? If all above is correct like so many others James moved south to find work. For the Suffolk line try writing to Maureen Miller, 65 Foxholes Rd, Great Baddow,Chelmsford, Essex. Her husband is descended from a sister to George. Hope all this is helpful.
