Find My Past =FMP I remember the Pitt one..

My x has a place in France with the witch, hes off there tommorow for 2 wks.
Goes about every 6 wks,I think he will retire there in a couple of yrs or so,I will REALLY miss him if he does!
But she dont know I know and if she did she,d have a hissy fit, stooopid woman.

Me and him are really good friends, always have been, just couldnt live together but its nice to be friends ,especially with a son between us.

thanks for hint on GRO costs - have a load to get!

another Benjamin! (benjamin Pitt was my mothers Gfather) -you helped me on that one too!

FTM is very good - It can hold loads - very easy to use and comprehensive in holding notes, many different ways of printing out all the info too - thats why I like it - (keeps the pile neat and tidy - or at least, it will!

but I'm keeping it on my computer this time! and trying like mad to reduce the paper in my box!

moving back here from france later this year - sitting here on my bum is my way clearing excess paperwork!!

what is FMP? - BTW ?

Wales Geog I am fine on,its where I am.
Its England that gets me !

FannyByGaslight Report 2 Mar 2010 21:29

Took out a 6 month sub to FMP when 1911 went subs, use it loads.but still have Ancestry as well.
Never tried theFTM thing as all my stuff is on paper in a big file.

BTW ,I think you will have to get Susan and James Edwards marrige cert for Susans dads name as the only one I can find on census for her that "seems"to be her is a Susannah with father Benjamin.

Certs go up from £7 to £9.25p in April at GRO,so I would get it quick time !

freebmd is the site I am using - with the odd £ 6.00 ish on find my past! and under a tenner now & then on ancestry

I had a lot of this stuff back in 2000 when I bought Family Tree Maker from america - I did not know then what the internet was! - and uploaded my tree. changed compter, home and country . - now back in the uk for a while

now, as I start to fill in the the tree on ancestry they 'hint' at a connection! - thats my tree! #878 vol. 84 -
guess FTM and ancestry are one and the same now!

ha ha, moany old woman!

anyway ... this is great - thankyou for your help

My Granny was illegit as well, but she did know who her dad was as she lived with him and her mum until he died when she was 5 and then the kids were put in a home...

Still took me months to find his first name as all I had was Mr Head died 1913sh in the Eastend of London...

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 2 Mar 2010 20:30

Shows my observation ..not !
I must have an incorrect birth for one of them I think..
Sorry bout that.
Prob the one born in Wales is wrong.
Edwards in Wales are ten a penny !

But I really cant find any other births to suit...

Thankyou
I saw the inmate, but discarded it when I found a 2 year with charles martin and family on 1901 RG 13/335 born O Ford Bow
(cant help thinking of the old aunts though!)
so, maybe Susan 'Edwards' was her mother?
