Hi Mel
Yes it is exciting. I'm sure that all these Carreys in Inveresk are related and we should be able to build up a picture of whose who. I'm guessing that Barbara's John had a few brothers as most of the names are similar in each family. Anyway, Musselburgh wasn't a very big place then, nothing like as many people living there as the main cities.
Good luck at the hospital with your Mum.

Morning mum had a bad time at the hosp so may have to spend a lot of time with her today.
Found Thomas's second marriage to Marion but it is a submitted record.
Thomas Carey Pedigree Male Family
Birth: 1852 Musselburgh, Inveresk, Midlothian, Scotland
Marriages: Spouse: Marion Henderson Family Marriage: 1896 Newton, Midlothian, Scotland
Messages: Record submitted after 1991 by a member of the LDS Church.
I had thought her second name would have been King as the step children's name was King on that census previously put up!!

My messages from Barbara.
New message to Mel
From Barbara Hello Mel thank you for your interest and I apologise for not answering sooner. This is all new to me and as I don't put the computer on every day I was a bit shocked to see the replys from you and Linda. I did email Linda last night and received a lovely reply from her today. I have just started researching my fathers (his mothers) side and have just had a trip to Scotland and was able to visit some of the places that my dad grew up but unfortunately didn't have time to research anything properly. John Carey(my gt gt gt grandfather) was of interest because he was involved with the Old Musselburgh Golf Links and his photo is on their website plus in the club rooms which was lovely to see. My information has mainly come from Genes or the LDS site but am thinking of joining Scotlands people or Ancestry. It is all a little overwhelming at times for me and I think I made the mistake of researching all the grandparents at once. Anyway once again my apologies for not answering sooner and for all your help it is very much appreciated. Regards Barbara Weston (Australia)
Hello Mel Thank you so much for your lovely reply it is so nice of you to be interested. Have just been on to the thread site and saw the emails from Leonie. Am not sure how to go about using that site so thought I would just use this one. As Leonie said we have ancestors in common and she was a wonderful help in the beginning. I don't like to worry people though and have managed to find out a lot myself but it is the Scottish records that confuse me. Anyway will go on to the site and see what I can find. Won't have much time in the next few weeks though as we are just waiting on a call from our daughter who is expecting her 1st baby tomorrow and she lives 3 hours from Perth so it will be a matter of just jumping in the car and going. Our son who lives in Sydney turns 40 on the 24th so we are hoping that the baby arrives soon so that we can go over and help with the birthday celebrations. Don't know who said once one retired life was a breeze as ours is very hectic. Anyway once again many thanks and I hope all goes well with your mum, will be thinking of you. Fond regards Barbara
