Find Ancestors

Hi All, I have tried to find info on my late fathers parents[i was around 4 when my parents separated so never knew gparents or Dad],
On Dads birth Cert his parents are Stewart edward Warwick & Gladys Beeteley, the area of registration plaistow west Ham C B , he was born 16/6/25 They lived at 129 Kennington Park Rd, Southark UD this Address appears on cert,.
Cant find any info on either parent...... & Beeteley doesnt appear anywhere on Ancestry/ Or other sites ? can someone trace anything for me here please,. thanks Caz

Thanks Rose, Yes he changed from Stewart to Stuart The thing that seems so strange is that i cant find anything on his mother, I dont know where the name Beeteley Originated from, or if the registrar spelled it wrong ? i have tried altering the letters around ommitting an E & adding an A ! Still no joy!.
Yes i have the same Edward Bookmarked thats about the only one close enough to my estimated DOB 1896/9,

It is very clearly Beeteley on the image of the birth registration ... very clearly typed as such!!


I sugges that you order that birth certificate and see what the actual handwriting on the certificate says.


I can find no marriage of a Warwick to a Gladys between 1910 and 1935

I have the birth cert here & as sure as ever the name is Beeteley...! i feel that the registrar has spelled the name wrong.. or Gladys has not given them her correct name, as back then it seemed they could change their christian names around,......Thanks Sylvia

Hi all you little sherlocks!, Ok before i give you my reply let me thank you all for finding all this information, as you know im out here in Australia & the time diff at present is +9 hrs to Uk, so i do get around to replying even though a little late, now i am getting so excited at how you are all coming up with so many details, {i am such a novice at all this} Sablon well done yet the name beeteley has only 3 'E's"! could be a close match ,did you find it on Ancestry? i go round in circles on there at times, thank you for that i will take a look,..
Dea,. Yes Dea, The occupation given for Stwt, Edwd,. is noted here as an Art Designer.......living At 129 Kennington Park Rd, Southwark UD..
Also the birth found by Rose seems to be 99.9% clear as you only need to take a look at his father William H Occupation.... Photographic Artist..picture framer,. my father was a designer print consultant, {both my daughters have inherited this art and design ability, which i knew dad had}, Also it seems Stwt Edwd was also in this line of occupation to good to ignore this has got to be the right one, the old adage' like my father before me, All in the same line of Business., love all this name changing lark its crazy as my father often changed his names around mostly known as les,.also he was bigamously married to 3 other women, & got caught, But thats another story to chase at a later date

thank you for the info on Gladys Beatley.. if i was the registrar & had this name to write Id ask the person is that with an E +A / saying the name Beatley it seems so obvious, but did she change her name ? was she Illiterate? & did they ever really marry.... i think not as she is simply nowhere at all, i wish i knew if the were any bros/sis to stuart Leslie {my dad,} That would put a light on so many questions,.
