Find Ancestors

I am searching for details on Ann Austin born 1846 Westbury Wiltshire. Her father was John Austin according to her marriage records. She married a Robert Cooper in Lambeth. I think I may have found her in the 1851 census in the workhouse. I can not locate her in the 1891 or 1901 census. I believe Robert died in 1897. She had 4 children, Annie who I have located in 1901 but not 1891. Mabel who died in her first year, William who I can not find at all and Blanch AustIn Cooper who I can also find no trace for except for her birth record born 1882. All children were born in Lambeth Westminster. Robert was born in Bacton Suffolk

Annie was born 1881, Blanche in 1883 and Mabel was born 1887 but died the same year. Robert died in 1897. It's what happened to any of them after this. Annie was my great grandmother and she was in Wallingford in 1901. There are no death records that I can locate for William, Annie (senior) or Blanche. Mo marriage record for Blanche.

That is interesting, alviegal.

I encountered a household a while ago, when helping someone out in exchange for his efforts to find my Hill/Moncks' relations, where the husband was assigned the surname of his "wife" and her children. We knew who he really was, and who the rest of the household were, so it was possible to figure it out.

I wonder whether something similar happened here?

Per 1891, William Austin was born in Southwark, so it looks like coincidence, or possibly distant relationship.

I have a Cooper gr-grmother, and I know how hard it is to tell one of the hordes of 'em from another. ;)

Thank goodness for that!! The father's have different occupations.
The groom was a batchelor but she was a widow. He was a servant residing at 4 Cox's Building, Belevedere Rd and she was at 8 Cox's Building.
His father was an engineer and hers was a labourer. Both deceased.

Can't find either name in the birth index.

Me again.
I can't believe what geniuses you all are. I've spent hours looking at this and you've solved it. All ties up, especially the address of 8 Coxes building. This is both on Annies birth certificate and Robert and Annie's marriage certificate.
It is an unusual one. I am now going to try and solve the two puzzles that have arose from this.
1. Find out if Annie and William are related in any way.
2. Who is William / Julia (That is an interesting one)
