Debra, you've had some excellent advice.

I love Jill's idea of a separate account.

I'm a person who does things slowly too. I've been researching my tree for over 25 years now - which was quite a thing from Australia before online info became available.

It's amazing what you can find by googling. Google everything - surname, place name, occupation. You find out so much info. For example, one of my ancestors was a witness in a robbery - from Old Bailey transcripts, another bought an insurance policy in the 1820s. He had died before the censuses & it proved his occupation which was on his daughter's marriage cert. I've found ancestors in the minutes of parish meetings. All kinds of stuff.

See, it's such fun & you don't have to spend thousands of quids.

Ozi.

P.S. Always make sure you get a hard copy, & REFERENCE it. You never know when you may need to go back to that info.
