Why ruin a scone & jam by putting cream on it!!!! cream... cann't stand the stuff.

I am a Devon Girl ...But have to have Jam first and then a girt big dollop of good old clotted cream on top.I do remember as a child it was butter first ,then jam and cream.
I just give the butter a miss these days :-D.

ME TOO !!!!put the jam on first then you can dollop the cream and mould it round to cover and sink your mouth into . PLUS more cream can be added when it oozes off side . LOVELY

Reminds me of cornish holidays in the 60,and 70,s when we spent 8 hours on a motorbike and sidecar getting to Cornwall for 2 weeks holiday

BIGGER AMOUNT OF JAM AND AND THE REST OF
THE POT OF EXTRA THICK CREAM ON JAM
NOW WHERES MY SCONE JAM AND CREAM

There's a tea garden in the Doone Valley where they make their own scones. They are huge (the scones - not the people who make them ;-) ). They're really nice too. :-)
