Not sure about this William James Chorley who emigrated to USA in 1907? He gives name of father as W. Chorley, Coronation Buildings, Newbridge, He's going to St. Clair, Illinois to join aunt, Mrs Hamilton,

That makes sense about him going to join his brother in Marissa Illinois. It looks as if his brother went out before him. What doesn't make sense is his fathers name being William. His fathers name was Henry.

If it is my William then there must be some record for him returning to England before 1915 when he joined the Army. If he remained in America then he should be on the 1920 census.

I think he actually joined the Royal Marines first in Feb 1915, and was later transferred.

I am now satisfied that Charles Chorley did go to Illinois America. Chris found this on the Passengr list

Does this mean that the ship went via Queenstown Ireland? and did it really only take 9/10 days to get to America?
