I found this today on the passenger list

Thank you again PricklyHolly for all your help. I can now add a few more names and information to my tree,

Thank you MargaretM

That makes sense about him going to join his brother in Marissa Illinois. It looks as if his brother went out before him. What doesn't make sense is his fathers name being William. His fathers name was Henry.

If it is my William then there must be some record for him returning to England before 1915 when he joined the Army. If he remained in America then he should be on the 1920 census.

All the best

Charles' entry to USA in 1910 doesn't have a brother with him. He gives name of relative at home as father James Chorley, High St., Newbridge, Mon.

He's going to join brother William Chorley, 351 Box, Marissa St., Charles Co., Illinois.

He seems to be with James Rees who's going to join friend William Chorley, same address. James nearest relative was mother Mrs. Anne Rees, High St., Newbridge, Mon.

Thank you so much PricklyHolly.

I will add this information to my records. So if he went to America it seems he came back quite quickly.

If that was him on the 1910 census in America he must have come back soon after to have joined the Army in 1915.

All the best
