They said she was not eligible to vote and thought she was a child

Who said?

The lady at Scottish library said she was not eligible to vote so I assumed a child but of course thinking about it she could have been older but under age to vote not necessarily the child of farquhar and lizzie

Even extending the range back to 1933 (if Catherine came of age in 1954-5, she would have been born 1933-4), the only Catherine R born in Inverness-shire is still Catherine Rachel born in Harris.

Only nine Catherine R Ma(c)donalds born in all Scotland 1933-55.

Oops my mistake it's catherine e macdonald sincere apologies

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 9 Nov 2016 12:36

This seems to be the only birth of a Catherine E Macdonald in Inverness 1933-55:

MACDONALD
CATHERINE E M
F
1934
098/A 107
Inverness

However, I don't see that it necessarily adds anything to the search for Mary! Farquhar & family may not have been any relation - perhaps they just happened to live next door.

just an observation if the macdonalds through the years living at ness place are unrelated which we don't know of course what a coincidence don't you think

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 10 Nov 2016 16:38

Macdonald is a very common name.
I don't think it would be much of a coincidence to have two unrelated Macdonald families living next door to each other.

But they may be related, for all I know!
