Looking at the date of this marriage and the 1851 census posted, it would appear that either Lydia brought an illegitimate child to the family or she had been previously married ?? Father on census surname Goll

Did the DNA test you used follow back on the female side only, or are you assuming that Hilda's father was of Afro Caribbean origin?

Nottingham archives MAY have something of use.

Just maybe, Mabel took out a court order against him, for child support. Or maybe Hilda was taken in as a ward before being placed with the Parkins.

I have been looking at possible marriages for Mabel.

I got quite excited over this one........

The problem is, there is a death for a Mabel Swann in 1918.....
