I have foreign family members and Genes Reunited is unable to process certain alphabetical characters like z, l, ü, or ê. How do we get round that? :-0

Welcome to the Boards

do ancestry or findmypast or any other family history site have the ability to process non-English characters??

I think you'll find that GR will be unable to make those adjustments.

I do not use the tree function on GR, but I do know that I can use the symbol function on my keyboard to process those characters on the Boards, as you have done in your OP.

But I also know that alphabetical characters used in other languages have always been a problem in English-speaking countries.

You may just have to find a way round it ...... for example by adding "e" after the letter with the umlaut, thus ae, ue, etc
