Welcome to the boards, Denise.

Kelly isn't a frequent user of the GR boards, and probably won't see your post here.

You can send her a private message - click on her name in green at the top of one of her posts, and use the resulting form.
GR will notify her that there's a message for her.

Hi, Albert was my grandmothers brother. He was killed and buried in India.
He is commemorated on our war memorial here in Rolvenden. A local historian is writing a book on all the men on the memorial and is keen to get a photo but none of the older family members have one. We’d be interested to see the photo to see if anyone might recognise him and it might answer your query

Can you see the cap badges in the photo? The East Kent Regiment badge is something like a winged dragon with "The Buffs" written underneath.

If the two men in the photo have this badge then it is likely to be the two men you mention.

Look in ‘search all member trees’, providing you know when and where each of them was born
Hardly anybody uses these boards nowadays, so you need to be pro-active.

Make sure your own tree on here is accurate and up-to-date, so that anyone interested can find your entries if they search, and can then contact you

I wondered if anyone has information on either of these guys. They are brothers of my great grandad. Their parents are Mary Ann cottingham and Leonard blackman. They both joined the buffs east Kent regiment and were posted to India. Albert was killed over there in 1917. I have a photo of 2 men in uniform with their mothers name wrote on the back and wondered if it was them. If anyone has any information on these 2 men or has them in their tree and has info or photos of them so I can compare to the one I have it would be gratefully recieved.
