61st (South Gloucestershire) Regiment of Foot

My 4x Great Grandfather was a sergeant in the 61st (South Gloucestershire) Regiment of Foot in Jamaica in 1818. He was married and had a daughter born there. I would like to find out more about his regiment and Jamaica at that time. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.
