His service records will still be with the MOD.

Look here to see how to order them (cost £30 and may take several months to arrive):-

I am tracing my family tree on my mothers side. In 1918 at the age of 14 my uncle
William Jesse Claude Dearlove ran away from home and joined the army, due to being caught by a policeman climbing a tree in tha local park he was taken home to his family was told he would have to appear in court for criminal damage to tree.
His father had to pay 5.00 pounds fine for his son failing to attend ( lot of money then)
William must have transfrered to the mans army 1n 1922. He visited my mother in
1929sh and said he was getting married and was stationed in India, we know he was at Fort Thia in 1935 as he sentav photo, at a later date he joined the Indian Army.
I would like to find out about his life history /record during that time, he is our (last missing link) he was in the Royal Signal Corps or The Royal Engineers.
Born in Devonport Plymouth, Devon.1904 died in Aslamabad 1977.
Punjabis was mentioned ? Started as a private and osme evidence he ended up a Major but not sure. Any one out have any info.?
