Finding my dad

Hi there
For years I have been trying to find my dad off and on. Name is Ian Jones, from Llandudno and was based in Maidstone as a Royal Engineer in the early 80's ( I was born 1983 and never met him). Last year (2020) my mum told me that he had contacted her via Facebook messenger. My mum won't give me any information on him, and cruely told me he'd got in contact. I have some health issues and I need to find him to find out if there is anything in his family I need to know about.
If anyone can help, it would be so great.

Obviously I've tried Facebook. There are loads of people with that name in Wales. And tbf, someone may be able to help me or suggest things to try. That's why I posted.

Have you tried taking a dna test

It may help

Surely DNA is only of use if the other person has also done the test and has shared ithe results somewhere?

Not necessarily Erika

A family member could have taken a dna and it will show as related ,then it may lead to more info and information

How would anyone access it?
