Hi,

My name is Linda and I was born in Crosby, Lancashire in 1944 to Emily Harrington (nee Curtis), later to become Emily Ellison. I was kicked out of the family home by my stepfather aged 14 and have since lost contact with my half siblings.

If you have any information regarding the Ellisons in the 50s, please contact me.

No there wasn’t a sister - it was just mum and me after my dad left until she remarried. I last heard from them the day I left- no contact since.

Thanks
Linda

Lin,

Why don't you add your sibling's names to your tree on here. Also, your mother.

Lin,

Can you PM me your mother's middle name and date of birth? I think she married again and had more children. Possible I found them on Facebook.

Her maiden name was Curtis, and DOB I’m not sure but I’m guessing around 1919/1924

It may be worth getting her birth certificate so you know her exact dob and middle name. Available from the GRO site (£9.25). This is the only birth for Emily V in the period 1915 - 1930:

I think this may be Emily's parents on the 1939 register, so no help in finding Emily's dob or middle name though - although she appears to have a number of siblings:

Wm G Curtis
Gender:Male
Marital Status:Married
Birth Date:2 Apr 1898
Residence Year:1939
Address:20 Penrhyn Ave
Residence Place:Litherland, Lancashire, England
Occupation:House Decorator
Schedule Number:174
Sub Schedule Number:1
Enumeration District:NVUD
Registration district:455 A/1
Inferred Spouse:Emily Curtis

Household Members:
Name
Wm G Curtis
Emily Curtis

There are 10 closed records at that address, and they looked to have moved around the Liverpool/Wirral areas looking at possible birth registrations.
