I have my fathers marriage certificate but not his birth certificate so I don't know where he came from. It could be Perth or even Newcastle on Tyne. His marriage certificate states Thomas Sinclair age 23 married Margaret Cable Simpson age 23 on 7th february 1918 at St. John's West Manse , Dundee Road Kinnoull, Perth. Father Hugh Sinclair, Mother Emma Lawerance. All this information but no birth certificate. Is there any site I can go on that would give me this information.

Also could try Free BMD or Ancestry sites - found a few Thomas Sinclair born 1895 +/- 1 year on Ancestry. This one may interest you if you think he may have been born in Newcastle upon Tyne - Dec 1894 Gateshead 10a 931 - Thomas Sinclair. Thanks to everyone who replied to my query but I have tried all of these, paid for all the sites that you have given me . None of these sites have my father on. I have now spent quite a lot of money but don't know where to look next. I know that he died 9th Dec 1957 aged 63 but I don't think on the death certificate they have where born so haven't sent for it yet. Many thanks to all Kenneth

I've looked for the marriage of his parents in Eng/Wales with no luck, so would seem they may have married in Scotland. Merry

As he was born before 1900, have you checked out the 1901 census? This should show where he was born. Happy humting
