Probably a vicious circle Mary. I am struggling with this awful cough at the moment, haven't been out of the house since we got back from holiday. Had a better nights sleep (about 5 hours instead of two) last night but it does get me down. |

That little pumpkin he brought,or had delivered, home for me to make four pies would not fit in my oven. He must like his pie. |

Do what I do with the pumpkin, poke a few holes in it, pop in the oven low temp for a little while, then it peels easily. Boil up the pulp in a little water, drain well, then mash and drain again, then I freeze it in bags to use later, for muffins or loaf or pie. All the mess over at once. |

Yesterday we made cheese and onion tarts, rolls in the shape of little loaves, date slices that are actually called matrimonial cake and some things called Brighton rocks which are curranty cakes with ground almond in the mix. |

Mary, that's cruel, those cakes sound so yummy and because o.h. is a pig and can't just eat one, we rarely have cake in the house. |

Mary, anything that helps MiniMary become less isolated from the family has to be good, I am sure taking care of Ginny will be good for her and having a special friend to talk to will be the making of her after her upset over her previous dog, Penny? was it, sorry I can't remember. She is old enough to be responsible for cleaning up after the pup and grooming it well too so it doesn't make too much extra work for you. Walking it will do her good as well, maybe Em will go with her and it will do both girls good. |

As you all know,we don't go in for black humour at home. I ventured out to the cone digester today and it is almost empty despite being well fed, including a couple of dead rats. |

Eileenbelieve me I am not 'MsStrong', I have my bad moments too. Havng been delighted earlier that G's appt was moved up, I am now annoyed because sarah's initial appt with an endocrinologist is booked for JUNE!! her bloodwork showed irregularities in thyroid function and she is having too many seizures and the Dr thinks the 2 are related, so, instead of trying thyroid med with her, she is to wait, untreated, till June, I suppose I should be grateful it's next year, not 2012. |

Some good news this morning, Gareths appt with the specialist has been moved up to tomorrow. Seems somebody pulled some strings for him. I so hope some help can be found. I had a nightmare walk home with him yesterday when he suddenly flung himself over the curb, & onto the road. Still attached tothe dog who was struggling to stay upright. Unbelievably, a weed growing between cracks on the road surface, had attracted his attention and he HAD to stamp on it. This is the latest obsession, one must stamp on weeds, pinecones, leaves, whatever seems out of place must be crushed. I am thinking that perhaps, for now, I should pick him up in the car and avoid some of the outbursts. Hate to use the car to cover a 3 -block distance, especially now that i am used to walking twice a day. |
