Hi Mary

I am sure you 'only' listening is a great help to your friend. I hope they find a solution.
We have very hot sticky weather here. Lovely to see the sun but half an hour gardening requires an hour's rest!!

Morning all, another dreary day here, headachy weather. trying to get up the energy to go to work later.
I'm so disappointed in my tomato seeds, the only one which is showing promise is the Black Krim tomato, the red, pink, yellow and purple ones are all non-productive to date. I got these "heritage" seeds last year and couldn't plant because of all the upset with the house, the dog and moving. Now I was motivated and only one is really showing any progress. very frustrating, was trying to avoid paying for plants.LOL.
been busy all morning with a friend who is devastated as they may lose their house. her OH was injured in december and wasn't covered by unemployment insurance. Life is smacking them in the face, their daughter is disabled and the bathroom reno alone was $10K to give her some independence. Now they may lose it all. And I can only listen.
Sending hugs to all who are in need of them today.

That is a shame Caz, such an upheaval, but hopefully you will get somewhere nice and convenient. Meanwhile keep all your stuff downstairs.

Hi Ann, no as it is a small semi and has a cross over landing so a stairlift wouldn't fit. Occupational therapists came and looked round to see what could be done, but not a lot at end of day. They looked at putting a lift in but it would have to go in corner of front room, and would arrive upstairs in our bedroom doorway. No good as to get to the bathroom I would have to come down in lift and walk up stairs. In the end we were told we would have to be rehoused. We are just waiting for one to become empty now.

Deanna, lovely news about Alan, a relief for you I am sure.

Yes, poor girl, that was a very long labour in this heat. Apparently, according to her Mum, she was fed up but kept her sense of humour.

YCaz, i am sure it is easier to take FH stuff downstairs and leave it in reach. Do you have a stair lift?

Oh another baby, how lovely, congratulations to the family and you Ann.
Deanna I'm thrilled for Allan, you can rest easy now that worry has been taken off your shoulders.
I've been out this morning to supermarket, suffering for it now with my back but it was lovely to get out for a bit. The weather is so hot though, I can't cope with the heat, was glad to get back home.
Sue my dining table is like that, only it's all family tree stuff, I've found that what comes down stays down now, it's difficult for me to get things up and down stairs. Lol, I can't even get myself down the proper way sometimes.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weather and it makes you feel a bit better.

sue, no wonder you don't want to do the paper work after doing all that housework.

It feels as if you have built up the paper work to be a mountain to climb. why not break it down into bite size chunks. One day sort into piles in order of importance. Then each day do just one piece of it, or two if you can manage. Organise a reward for yourself and give yourself an award each time you clear one thing. keep us informed if you like so we can cheer you on in the paper chase!

Morning everyone.

Congrats to Ann's great niece x

Well, can't face paperwork but will try later on, if I don't clear it soon we will be eating on our laps cos the dining table is full.

Doctor phoned me this morning and is sending scrip for Tramadol to local chemist. He knows that I have a tendency to drop blood pressure but I will give it a go. Anything to try and ease this unrelenting pain. It may also accelerate my INR level but as I am still .6 under my target they will keep an eye on that (I have weekly bloods anyway).

I only have one physio appointment this week plus trip to surgery so it's basically a slow week.

Why do we always try and push ourselves at home? I have dusted around, wiped up the dishes, I keep looking at the fridge shelves and I will have to attack those today as I am ashamed :-(( Swept kitchen floor, apart from the fridge none of it really matters but having been used to a clean house I feel guilty that I cannot keep on top of it. OH says it doesn't matter but he works long hours and I don't want him to come home to a tip!

We bought plants for the tubs and baskets last week and I planted them up on the kitchen worktops cos I can't bend over. That worked really well, so at least they are finished for the year.

Well I am going to try and stay out of bed for another hour..

Love to everyone who is suffering.

ANN.... Friday she went into labour???

Bless her heart, that is a long time.

Hope she has him soon. XX

Allan at the doctors and I am trying very hard to do some H********......... the very fact that I can even think of it is a huge improvement.
Still have things that I can't do... like take the hoover out. I am cleaning the kitchen floor with a dustpan and brush.
Sounds heavy, but one of the things which I have managed to maintain is my 'flexibility'... I can bend over to do things very easily... it is standing that causes me the problems.

Eileen, missed you this morning love.

Ben please look after yourself, and be good to you Ben... you are an important person love.

Joyce hope you are okay today, I know that you have times when you can't be bothered ... like the rest of us, but I miss you on here. x

Mary, Kathy, Gail, Gill, Sue, Caz Y, Elaine... how is your husband these days?
Janet, Sharon, and Sharron.... I will eventually be able to tell you apart... at the moment you are like twins to me! ;-0)

Wendy , are you about still?

Carole... our *founder*... good morning all.
I will go finish what I am doing.. then perhaps do a bit of reading... new book... my idea of luxury.

Have a lovely day all of you. The sun is shinning and we all feel better on days like this don't we?

Love to all those I have forgotten... I will get there in time...;-0)

Morning everyone, don't like to see 'us' sink so low down the threads. looks like it is going to be another lovely day here so may get a bit of gentle gardening in. Don't want to hurt my back again so have to be careful.

I am waiting to hear if my nearly 18 year old Great Niece has had her baby yet - she is expecting a boy and went into labour on Friday, seems to be stop start but Saturday was every five minutes. Not heard from my sister (her Nana) since last night so probably no news.

Have a good day everyone.

What a lovely weekend! I'm feeling quite good at the moment, just very tired! Not sleeping too well on work nights. Again been constipated since Thursday! Tomorrow it'll start with a vengance ten min's before I have to go to work.

Ben you can hold your breath but your bodies instinct will make you breath. Mum's learn that with babies which hold their breath! As for the pulse, can you find one in a finger tip? It would be better to feel for there. Have you ever tried doing something else to distract you from doing the self hurt ect? Try an elastic band on a wrist and pluck it. Make a little sequence on it. I tried that to take my mind off going to the loo!! Or a bag in your pocket with small things in. A button, marble, stone, penny so on. Fiddle with it to take your mind off the other things that pop up!

NO NO I don't mean that!! Blush !!!

Mary Mary quite contrary how does your garden grow? With a daughter and grandchildren, and lots of love !!! Oh thats not right is it!!! Oh yes it is !!!

Breathing is instinctive Ben so I think it would be impossible to stop it. When you have these thoughts would it be possible for you to immediately concentrate on thinking about something else. like a puzzle in your family tree or something? Or immediately come on here so we can talk you through it.

Sue Report 11 May 2008 19:11

Ben,

That is great!!!! One day without that urge must be a step forward.

You are NOT going to stop breathing. The amount of breath you inhale and exhale is regulated by your body naturally enabling you to get sufficient oxygen.

People train to hold their breath, pearl divers are just one example. I know I can't hold mine for very long, brain then takes over and I have to take a breath. It's the built in survival safety mechanism and you cannot overide it.

Have you spoken with your GP about this one? Has anyone else in your group experienced the same worry?

I am sure someone else on here will help you with this too.

Hi all

I have not felt the urge to touch my pulse on my neck today. I hate these ocd urges.

I recently did worry about my breathing that I am not inhaling or exhaling enough air, or that I might stop breathing or something. The chances of that are very unlikely arent they? How long would it take for you to pas out if you stopped breathing. The worrying over breathing has stopped but I would still like some advice on it please?

I have had ocd for a long time and had owrries about harming others but I have never before worried about harming myself before until recently when I owrried over my pulse.
