I have been off the social scene for, what seems like, forever so just don't know...

Is it normal for a group of guys, aged between 35 - 65ish to meet up at the pub EVERY Friday and then go on to a bar at 11.00 or thereabouts? What's the difference between the pub and the bar?

Am I being really naive here?

Pefectly normal...drinks are cheaper in the pub so you have a few before moving onto a bar where at night there may well be a dress code and prices stiffer

Tina, yes it is becoming normal, they see teenagers going out and getting drunk at weekend and they have to try and prove their masculinity as well ! The only difference between a pub and a bar is the prices charged !!

Yes it is normal, its jsut that the bar or nightclub even, will probably be open for longer than the pub.

Its the done thing nowadays. Gone are the days where you go to a pub for a quiet drink and go home and closing time.

Are you sure its a bar and not a night club,a bar is a pub as far as I know, and would shut at the same time, but a night club would just be getting going at about 11.pm

ps. as someone who has to drive late night buses, the men between 35 - 65 can't handle it like they used to !

Bars these days normally have dance floors and music etc (so a bit like a small club) and they may well be open later than the pub!

But yes its normal!!

Tina, stop talking like that about yourself. Yes, consider yourself told off girl!
You have been a trusting partner - that's not a crime, and don't you forget it!
What goes around, comes around. He's not your loss, you are HIS LOSS. And one day, the silly man will realise that.
Now, please remember you have supportive friends on here, eh.
