Saving about £2 on a box of shreddies by buying Aldi's?

Tescos own wahing tablets rather than Ariel?

Sainsburys coffee rather than Nescafe?

Clothes from George at Asda?

Nah, never catch me doing that LOL

Lynn I've been told that if you buy top brand names try stepping down 1 grade & see if you can tell the difference ie if you buy Heinz go for "own brand"
If "own brand" tastes as good as Heinz then try "Value".
As a result I use a mixture although never recycled loo roll as I can't bear the thought of where it may have been "used" before!

I don't believe in paying for the name when other products are just a good if not better, agree with Colin we buy lots from Aldi and quite often guests say that is nice where did you get it and then watch their faces when I say Aldi!

My boss who worked in the rag trade used to say "if you're buying for the label, all you'll be left with is the label" !

No we buy own brands as much as we buy branded names and find very little difference. In fact if you look at the labels some of the cheaper options have less fat and calories. We have friends who will only buy branded vinegar for 76p and are quie aghast that we buy Aldi's for 16p

I buy what I like to wear and I don't much care who makes it.

I do look for certain shops because they sell the sort of stuff I like and avoid others for the same reason.

Not many shops cater for ageing hippies so I get a lot of stuff on ebay or specialised market stalls.

Hi Lynn, not into designer names etc so happy to buy whatever I chose and what ever does the job I want it to do!
Doesn't make you a cheapskate, just a sensible person who is making her money go as far as possible, essential these days I think!
People who put tiny children into designer gear that they will grow out of in a month, or who encourage young children to go for designer stuff are storing up problems for the future.
