Biased? Of course I am. Everyone from Liverpool is biased when it comes to this year's European Capital of Culture.


European Capital of Culture: Liverpool is hosting an astonishing range of events
We support it to our fingertips, defend it against sneers of outsiders who go on and on about the scallies, burglars, thugs, drug dealers, whingers and footballers' wives who make the headlines and always crowd out any good news about our native city. Never mind all that, we say. It's going to be wonderful. Just watch us.

Well said Keith, it had a wonderful start on Friday and it will be a fab year.
Hope people off here can come see our great city during this culture year. Then they can make informed comments from personal experiences.

Liverpool is a great City-full of history and culture and has some of the most beautif buildings in the world-st georges's hall is magnificent and my fav is the liverbird building-
I can see why it was picked-great people (well apart from the footy team lol) great sense of humour and a city that has been generated in a good way. It has it's problems like any other city but you have to focus on the positive.

it's a great city wether it's got the capital of culture or not-that is imaterial I feel.

WELCOME TO OUR CITY

I love the Anglican Cathedral, what a wonderful building designed by a 22 year old student Giles Scott who had no previous building experience! He won the competition which had over 100 entrants. Think it took a hundred years to complete. St James' cemetery almost under it is lovely and has water seeping through a wall, think it used to be a mine. Supposed to cure all ills and make you young and beautiful!

I was born in St James road which is next to the Anglican Cathedral,

I watched Play for Today this afternoon, all Liverpool actors, well known......I was hooked, the acting was brilliant.....Liverpool seems to have a culture all of its own......I love the humour....
