Hi Joanne. Sorry to hear that regards the babies.(((hugs))) My heart goes out to you xx

I've always been a bit of a *gobby mare* (charming ex boyfriend phrase lol) but as I've got older I've become more and more outspoken......That was not the way I was brought up though !!

I feel pretty secure in myself nowadays. Though in my late teens and twenties I was REALLY not good news. Lurched from one disaster to another. It seemed as soon as I turned 30 my life just got better and better. I'm sure it's not because of the numbers (age) but I'm so much happier and confident now I don't want to lose it !!!xx

I am way way beyond my forties but to me age is a state of mind - in my head I'm a teenager - not one of today's teenagers, a teenager when I was a teenager if you get my meaning!

Muffy - haven't you heard, sixty is the new fifty, so forty must be the new thirty, which means you can do it all over again, but even better, you'll have even more fun because you know the way to do it, - onward and upward

I think it depends how your life is at the moment.

For example, I have tried unsuccessfully to start a family for the last 9 years. Last year when I turned 40 was a terrible day, and I couldn't see anything good about it. To me it was another year babyless. Next Sunday I will be 41 and feel a lot better about it.

Physically I feel no different to my 30's, but I have to admit that i will stand up and say what I think now.

You get grumpier - BUT you care less about other's views of you.
You get more wrinkles - BUT your eyesight isn't so good so you don't notice them.
Your hormones go doolally - BUT they're a good excuse for irrational behaviour!

I have 27 months left of my 30s and I have loved this time of my life.

Looming in the not so distant future............ is the big 4 0

I looked forward to being 30 - BUT I'm not looking forward to 40 in the same way (well I am a bit but only cos I'll be getting my Border Collie pup)

My thirties have been by far the best era in my life. I'm loathe to let them go. Not that i have a choice lol. How do I prepare myself for my 40s? Does life REALLY start then....... cos I feel pretty lively now lol...........Does it get better........or is it just perception or circumstance ???????????.
