I know how much this hurts xxxx You will never forget or replace him - but in time you may find new space for love in your heart, but not right now.

When I lost my TC after 16 years I found this poem - it gave me strength and I hope it does to you - we have it on his memorial:

God saw you getting tired,
And a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you,
And whispered, "Come to me."

With tearful eyes I watched you drift.
I watched you fall away.
I couldn't bear to lose you.
I couldn't ask you to stay.

A golden heart stopped beating.
Shining eyes at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove us
that he only takes the best.

I can find no words to ease your pain, but I can tell you that he will always watch over you, loving you forever. Bless you XX.

Tribute To A Best Friend

Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor....
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound....
then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours....
your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet above.
