Well I would listen to Errol over me - I am only saying what happens on mine and Errol has more of a Global view being a more techy person and well known for helping out on tecchy things.

But I do use .Jpeg Errol although the file is jpg.

Although you cannot preview can you not actually open the files?

You do not need to put "jpeg" Maddie - possibly .jpg but that is merely the file format so would be added automatically, as would .bmp, .gif etc. If they are merely copied as they were from the old PC onto a CD then they should be recognised on the new one.
What you need to do is see if you can open from CD on the old PC. When you view the CD, can you "see" the files even though you cannot open them? And, if so, what is the file extension (the bit after the full stop for each file name)?
There are a number of reasons why this may have happened, one being a dodgy CD, for example.

I get that when I forget to put .jpeg at the end of name of the file even though the format below is jpeg if that makes sense.

Does it then come up with another window giving you different programme files that you could use to open them?

Hi Maddie

Thank you for your quick reply, as far as I can see it is all in .jpg.

When I try to view all files it allow me to view some but on others it says no preview available.

did you remember to put .jpeg at the end of the name of all the files? If you dont it dosent always recognise them.

Do you have an option to view all files and are you using the same software as before to view them?
