Apparently what we listen to when we drive, affects our driving skills and speed so hope you are all listening to the right kind of sounds lol
Lizx
I must admit if I put the radio on and there is something fast, hectic, can't explain, I do tend to drive faster. I take lots of different cds with me on journeys but tend to use the radio when out and about round the city.

I may go back for it tomorrow - I couldnt make up my mind at the time and treated myself to a talking electric car tyre pressure thing instead .... in the hope I pass my test lol.

Oooo I do have an Ipod Maddie Moo that's why I didn't particularly look for the CD changer - but five CDs is good disciplline for me. Especially as I only do short journeys as a rule and by the time I choose what to listen to on the pod I'm already at my destination lol. I don't get on with shuffle - it rarely plays what I fancy listening to !!!

Got my Spandau Ballet playing through the Ipod as I type lol xx

Maddiecow Report 2 Jan 2008 18:10

5 cds ooh Muffy I couldnt do that! get an IPOD Put your whole library on it and play it through the tape player (its a funny lead thing with a dummy cassette on the en)d. Theres a huge shuffle thing in our boot but it hasnt been used for years.

Ipod on shuffle is fab all your fav songs in a random order so you never know what your going to hear next :)

If I had to pick just 5 I would feel so guilty.

NEVER DO A TANGO WITH AN ESKIMO
(Connor)

Alma Cogan - 1955
Also recorded in French by Petula Clark as "Tango de l'Esquimau" (Connor / Constantin).

You must never do a tango with an Eskimo
No, no, no, oh dear no
When a lady from Nebraska's at a party in Alaska
She must never do a tango with an Eskimo

You can do it with a Latin, from Manilla to Manhattan
You can do it with a gaucho in Brazil
But if once those Eskimoses start to wiggle with their toeses
You can bet your life you're gonna get a chill

Brrrrrrrr

You can never do a tango with an Eskimo
No, no, no, oh dear no
If you do, you'll get the breeze up
And you'll end up with a freeze up
You must never do a tango with an Eskimo
No, no, no, no, no, no, no

(Instrumental Break)

You must never do a tango with an Eskimo
No, no, no, oh dear no
When a lady from Nebraska's at a party in Alaska
She must never do a tango with an Eskimo

You can do it with a sailor from Peru to Venezuela
You can do it with a Apaches in Paree
But if once an Eskimosee starts to cuddle up so cosy
You'll find your passion cooling, yes sirree

Brrrrrrrrr

You can never do a tango with an Eskimo
No, no, no, oh dear no
If you do, you'll get the breeze up
And you'll end up with a freeze up
You must never do a tango with an Eskimo
No, no, no, oh no, no, no, no
Never do a tango with an Eskimo
No, no, no

PADDY MCGINTY'S GOAT
(Traditional)
Val Doonican - 1967

Mister Patrick McGinty, an Irishman of note,
Came into a fortune, so bought himself a goat.
Said he, "Sure, of goat's milk I mean to have my fill!"
But when he got his Nanny home, he found it was a Bill.

And now all the ladies who live in Killaloo
Are all wearing bustles like their mothers used to do.
They each wear a bolster beneath the petticoat,
And leave the rest to Providence and Paddy McGinty's goat!

Missis Burke to her daughter said, "Listen, Mary Jane, .
Now who was the man you were cuddling in the lane?
He'd long wiry whiskers all hanging from his chin."
"Twas only Pat McGinty's goat, " she answer'd with a grin.

Then she went away from the village in disgrace,
She came back with powder and paint upon her face.
She'd rings on her fingers, and she wore a sable coat,
You bet your life they never came from Paddy McGinty's goat.

Little Norah McCarthy the knot was going to tie,
She washed all her trousseau and hung it out to dry.
Then up came the goat and he saw the bits of white:
He chewed up all her falderals, and on her wedding night:

"Oh turn out the gas quick!" she shouted out to Pat,
For though l'm your bride, sure l'm not worth looking at.
I'd got two of ev'rything, I told you when I wrote,
But now I've one of nothing, all thro' Paddy McGinty's goat.'

Mickey Riley he went to the races t'other day.
He won twenty dollars and shouted, "Hip Hooray!!"
He held up the note, shouting "Look what I've got!"
The goat came up and grabbed at it and swallowed all the lot.

"He's eaten my banknote," said Mickey, with the hump.
They ran for the doctor, he brought a stomach pump.
He pumped and he pumped for that twenty dollar note,
But all he got was ninepence out of Paddy McGinty's goat.

Now old Paddy's Goat had a wonderous appetite,
and one day for breakfast he ate some dynamite.
A whole box of matches he swallowed all serene
and then he went and gobbled up a quart of paraffin.

He sat by the fireside, he didn't give a hang,
swallowed a spark and exploded and exploded with a bang.
SO if you go to heaven you can bet a dollar note....
that the Angel with the whiskers on is Paddy McGinty's Goat.

The End

Max Bygraves
Des O Connor
Ken Dodd
Lonny Donnegan
Val Doonican

I've got his songs going around in my head now!!
.

Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky,
Little boxes, little boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.

2. And the people in the houses
All go to the university,
And they all get put in boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
And there's doctors and there's lawyers
And business executives,
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.
3. And they all play on the golf-course,
And drink their Martini dry,
And they all have pretty children,
And the children go to school.
And the children go to summer camp
And then to the university,
And they all get put in boxes
And they all come out the same.

4. And the boys go into business,
And marry, and raise a family,
And they all get put in boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.
