Colin,

as you know wasn't a big fan of school myself...and if Mr Jones the head master wasn't long dead...well, won't speak ill of the dead,but.......!

went to a lot of schools as we moved a lot...had a few great teachers, especially of English...will always remember and be grateful..to Mr Taggart (in the Isle of Man) and Mr Grimer (in Cornwall)...kind and 'inspirational' men with a passion for the written word.

Happy new year to you Colin

my Mum was rapped over the knuckles with a chair rung for writing with her left hand!!

Colin Report 1 Jan 2008 11:33

Hated school myself the head old rolland vaughn
spent the first few weeks caining me for writing
with my left hand--devils child he said and at
four years of age it only means you come to hate
school and close your mind to learning and
become more rebellious as you age---You
wonder how grown and so called well educated
people could have a downer on kids and especially
since such spoils their entire lives---I just
wonder how many budding genius's have been
destroyed through grown up predujuice and
ignorance despite all their education
show me a rebel at school and ille show you
a stupid nursery teacher

I'm truly gifted in putting my size 5 in it believe me! I once was a witness in a road accident where a motorist knocked two schoolboys off their bikes. His fault entirely. Had to ask for time off from work so speaking to the pay clerk booking the time off I explained the pros and cons of the case to her, saying that it was all his fault and adding "and as for his wife, well what a snotty piece of work she was" to which she replied "Yes, I know, she's my sister" OMG I thought, and then she quickly added - "you are right, she is a snotty cow" Relief all round I can tell you
