I'm not a great believer in the "love of your life". I think there are probably several potentials but it depends on circumstances and where both of you are, emotionally, at that time.

There were 2 before OH but I ended both of the relationships because, despite believing it was love, it somehow didn't feel right.

'imself came along at a very inconvenient time for both of us and we decided to keep it casual until we were in a position to contemplate a life together. We were studying in different places and couldn't meet that often, apart from holidays. Yes, it was love but it had to wait until the time was right for both of us.

It's only now, after all the years together, that I can say he is the love of my life.

I have happy memories of the other "loves" but they are nothing in comparison with our shared memories. He has picked me up when I have been on the floor not wanting to go on, he has supported me through the illness of two parents and the suicide of my best friend.

He isn't the most romatic man in the world but he loves me and has never given me any reason to doubt that. He shows me that in the ways that really matter.

How could he not be the love of my life?

Not yet, but apparently what's meant for you doesn't go by you.......... So I look forward to his arrival!
