Thanks. I'll keep my chin up and hope for the best. He's in good hands and I'm going to spoil him rotten when I bring him home.

don't forget the saying - a cat has nine lives - he'll be fine I'm sure and will forgive you!!

Aww, poor Fatty Boy. I hope he'll be ok. You mustn't beat yourself up over what happened, though. Cats have a habit of sneaking into all sorts of places and getting into trouble. Good thing they have those 9 lives!

I remember one time I'd just emptied out the washing machine and went to hang the clothes up, came back into the kitchen and shut the washing machine door.

A short while later I went back into the kitchen for something and heard scratching. Yes, you guessed it - my poor old cat was locked inside the washing machine. He'd jumped in there when I wasn't looking and because he's black I didn't even notice he was sitting in there when I shut the door!

I often wonder what would have happened to him had I gone off out to the shops or whatever. Scary thought eh?

Hope Fatty Boy will be ok - regards, Athena

What a terrible thing to happen. Dont beat yourself up over it though accidents happen and you are a caring pet owner.
I am sure Fatty Boy will forgive you and be back to his old self in no time.

I had to lock the garden shed this morning before going to work because OH had left it open. When I came home from work this afternoon, I couldn't find my cat Fatty Boy. I searched everywhere and realised what had happened when I saw the dog barking at the shed door.

I found Fatty Boy inside with a lot of skin off his face and legs where he'd tried to get out. He was very weak and could barely stand up. He's in the vet's tonight sedated and on an IV drip. The vet says his wounds are only superficial but he's really concerned by how dehydrated Fatty is.

It was an extremely hot day here in Queensland Australia today and I can't even begin to imagine how hot it got in the tin shed.

I can't believe how careless I was in not checking before locking the shed. I'll never forgive myself if Fatty Boy doesn't survive the night.
