I started off with Freeserve 'pay as you go'. Then it changed to Wanadoo and I upgraded to 'anytime'. That used to disconnect after a certain length of time. It was in the contract that it would, but no problem just dial back in again. Then it became Orange and I went to Broadband. I have never been disconnected. I haven't yet gone to 8mgs, don't really need it. I'm with Peter in support of Orange, but perhaps we are lucky with our locations.

My son had Tiscali for sometime but was having endless trouble with them because his usage was not unlimited (as they stated) and he likes to download music etc. He has now changed to BT.

I think when you are choosing a Server you should read the small print and make sure what they offer is suitable for your usage.

Hi Peter,

I did put a thread on the board recently to say I was having problems with orange broadband disconnecting all the time too. I was with Freeserve, which changed to Wanadoo and never had any problems until Orange took over. I have contacted them many, many times about how my broadband keeps disconnecting nothing happens, mine disconnect severy minute of the day, its such a pain when they wont sort it out properly.

You have to be careful about making sweeping statements - often it is not the service provider that is at fault.

I have been with Orange for over 5 years and they have never put a foot wrong. I have upgraded regularly from dial up to basic broadband and am now on an 8mb unlimited service, although the local BT exchange line limits this to 5mb.

So, what is it, "We all know about Orange"?
