Thanks for all your thoughts. Abby has just rang me and they've started her on Oromorph which is a type of Morphine.
Hopefully she will get a good nights sleep with it

I have mentioned the bottled water to her, as she drinks a lot of it - will have to make do with tap water from now on.

She's told me about elderly lady in opposite bed, who has complained because she doesn't have a kidney stone!!

Abby will quite happily give her hers!

She's hoping they'll let her home soon, as she misses her 10 month old little boy Callum (who is also missing his mum)
He's here with me, have just managed to get him off to sleep, and hopefully he'll go through the night.

Kath

Kath, hope Abby gets a good nights sleep. Bob says he really does feel sympathy for her!

Jane - ooh! - sounds soooo painful *winces*

My Hubby has had several stones in the kidney, the various things they do is try to shatter it so it would pass out in her urine, they use an ultrasound thing to check stone and where exactly it is. To shatter stone they can put in a stent and use a lithotripter (spelling) machine to shatter it..

Ooh that sounds painful.
Hope your daughter feels better soon Kath.
My brother had them, went into hospital for a few days,
usual tests/scans.
His were dissolved,so he was able to pass them easier.
