I have had a breadmaker for 2 yrs fantastic, i sometimes just use the dough setting and then bake in oven, this way i can make a loaf and rolls from same recipe

My most memorable birthday lunch was on the occasion (I was about 9 or 10) that we were on camping hols up the Thames Coast (Margaret from Ashburton NZ will probably know where that is, it is in NZ) and we were out of bread, so we drove up to Coromandel for the day, called at the bakery at about 11.30 (this was in the days before factory-produced bread). They said it was still in the oven, so we went back a little while later and bought a HOT loaf. Drove to a nearby beach. Had trouble slicing it, and the butter was melting before it came anywhere near the bread. Mmmmmm. Yummy. Any wonder I am so big now? I dont think I should buy a breadmaker. I have made some in the past, the slow way. It was yummy. I thought I was going to save money, but the kids loved it so much it was costing more, I reckon.

My mum used to make lovely bread, the old fashioned way.
What make is your breadmaker Muffy? I wouldn't mind getting one, am a real breadaholic. altho I do prefer wholemeal type loaves or granary ones, can you do those too?

Yes Wholemeal and grain can be done we actually prefer mixed grain
Now if Im completely honest Breadmaking is OH job

Mine is a Morphy Richards Fast bake. Though I have to confess I have yet to make a decent loaf on fastbake so only used the 3 hr setting.

It is £70 from Argos but I found it for about £42 on Amazon. It makes all different sorts of bread you can do pretty much anything you fancy. Granary, Wholemeal, Herb, Cheese and Onion... There's loads of recipes all over the internet for breadmakers.

I've now been railroaded into doing one of my super dooper loaves for my parents lol and after that I'm going to tackle Chocolate bread !! Sounds gross but the kids really want to try it.

I'm really hoping the recipe works for everyone who tries it !! I'd be interested to know how you got on xx
