We will soon be sending cards all over the place to different members, and I wondered if it might not be a better idea to
put up a thread for each person (first person 'writing' their cards can start it lol) so everyone who wants to can add their Christmas greeting for that person,no other posts except Greetings, and the money saved could be donated to a charity. Would be more environmentally friendly, and we could print our threads out on Christmas Eve and hang them up with the cards or keep with our pressies to read again later.
Just an idea, any takers?

I did a general Xmas card thread last year because I donated to charity last year, so no doubt I'll do the same again this year!

But Liz yet again you are thinking of others! And that's why we love you so much

I stopped sending cards a few years ago............what a waste of money!

I am more than willing to send my cards online and donate a gift to the Christmas Bureau here.

Marion, oops, hadn't thought of that, can someone work out how we could do this ? What about if we put up a thread each with our Xmas name in the title and if someone wants to send that person a greeting they search for that name?

Help please?
We also need to nominate a charity, maybe Children in Need or something else worthy, that we are all happy about?

Nice idea to give to charity and I do that anyway at Christmas but I make my own cards and love sending and receiving them so while I will continue to give to charity it wont stop me sending cards. Sorry Liz. However, if anyone who I have sent to in the past would prefer me to give the money to charity instead of me sending them a card this year, please pm me and I will add the price of your card plus stamp to the charities I already give to. (does that make sense?)

Liz

Maybe GR would put one at the top where you just add your name.

I would just put one out to all. I would imagine it would be pretty busy if everyone put a message out to all their friends indvidually (sp)

It is possible to send ecards. I use this facility a lot. I see no reason for the post office to cash in!!
What I save in cards and postage I give to a charity of my choice.
Just another possibility for anyone so inclined.
