Its amazing how people from the other side of the world can connect with you in your tree. I have one person in Canada who has a connection with me through an ancestor in 1866.

YES I'VE STARTED TO TRY TO GET HUBBY'S SIDE GOING BUT THAT'S HARDER. I'VE HAD ONE BREAKTHROUGH FROM SOMEONE WHO READ MY 'TRYING TO FIND' FOR SOMEONE IN N Z AND THEY CONTACTED A FAMILY MEMBER OF THEIR'S OVER THERE WHO WORKED WITH A RELATIVE(DOES THAT MAKE SENSE) ANYWAY THEY'VE GOT IN TOUCH. I'M THRILLED

It is addictive I agree, I set off looking a couple of years back, but only took it seriously just after xmas last year.

I have traced back to early 1700 on my dads mothers side, although with the help of people from GR one of them is/was related to me and he passed on quite a bit of info as did one or two others who are linked to my tree.

Its a bit like up here, you have the towns and villages but its when you get into the heart of the lake district that makes you greatful and respectful of the area

It is a lovely area from what I saw (not much really, just the training area). But I did sample the train stations at Thetford and Peterborough - lovely!!!

They are quite easy really, I would rather work with them than young school children. You get one or two who can be a handful or awkward but they soon learn or leave.
