R R.....I am sure many people who have worked in the Caring field professionaly and have also had to Care for a family member would agree that there is no comparason, when it is your family, you have that emotional attachment/connection so their welfare because part of your life, therefore you are never really'off duty' whereas, caring for a living is completely different. I have worked with most vulnerable people client groups., it is rewarding. I go in,do my job then come home and get on with my life. This is not how it is when it is your family. |

I am a carer for my Mum,she is 84yrs and can reduce me to tears sometimes, I have two brothers one comes couple of times a year the other every blue moon,It is very hard for carers sometimes especially if there is no help around, I have to make her tablets up weekly as the doctors surgery has stopped doing that and she is on about 30 a day. |

Belladonna, you do something that I don't think I would be able to do. Caring for someone you love, family, is one thing.....not sure I could do it for others?. |

Merlin, (((hugs))) it is hard sometimes to hold to a promise no matter what.....sometimes only the strongest can do it. No blame to those who can't . |

I am a Carer for my sister (aged 52) she is unable to get out of the house due to her Mental Health so I do her shopping, pick up prescriptions etc. I also work part time in a nursing home for people with profound physical and learning disabillities. |

I'll add my name to your list Rose. Don't need a hug these days:-) but have been there. Feel for those who's lives are taken up with caring for another.... Had a child and looked after them for many years. Life was built around them. Some days were good but the down days seemed never ending. Am here for others if they need a chat. |
