its not really sweet which makes a change didnt think I would like it put do.

Did you know was orginally called Millionaires Pie originated in Norfolk and then we took it to the Americans

Pumpkin Soup

carrot chopped
onion chopped
vegetable stck cube
Pumpkin
Water to cover

cook till all soft put in belender season to taste, add more water if want it thinner.

finish with cream but dont boil once cream is added

pumpkin pie

flan of shortcrust pastry

filling
Apricot to spread on base
1/2 pt water
1 lb sliced pumpkin
2 1/2 tblespn brown sugar
2 oz sultanas
1 egg
mixed spice to your taste

after making flan ring keep trimmings

put water , pmpkin in pan and boil for 10 mins
when soft drain and let it cool
when cool add all other ingredients and poor on top of jam that is in flan case.

roll our trimmings and cut strips lattice across pie

cook in oven for 15mins at 200 ntil pastry starts to cook through then turn down a bit and cook for further 20 mins

Aww bless them Dawn.. mine used to love sowing sunflower seeds when they were little, and we did the cress and bamboo shoots one all the time. We were never in one place long enough to do much more, unfortunately.

Could you please ask him for a recipe using pumpkin ...........anything that is not too complicated.

Genuinely I would love to make something edible from them.

am okish just plodding on.

And as for the size of his pumpkins they were sown by tiddler and laddo and hubby nurtured them, they arent too big.

I love having an ex chef cook for me eldest was determined to say his soup was yuk yesterday to prove a point but she couldnt and ended up having some too

Yes BC.......they may be orange and knobbly, but he loves them!!

So many pumpkins.......................so few cookery skills!

Oh well, they will make great candle holders for halloween.
