Jean and Granny Grumps, please excuse me eating while I type lol,
do hope that both of you continue to post in future.
I have been here a year or so, so many nice.funny.caring people (some sadly have left and I miss them) the good still outweighs the bad for me.

Hi Rose and Everyone,

I don't lie in the 'real world' and don't on here. What you 'see' is what you get...like it or not.

I have made some really good friends on this site, many of whom no longer post, but we still communicate and meet up as often as we can.

I don't post very often now as to be frank I don't know a lot of people on here and the changing of names confuses me so much. I do like to know who I am talking too:)))

I will always be grateful to many members of this site for all the support shown to me, some of whom I know and some I don't.

My membership runs out in 3 weeks time.
I will most probably renew as I have made some good contacts via my tree but don't know if I will ever feel that I want to post on here in the future as I have done in the past.

Jean x.

LOL Gwynne,
yes if you are going to be dishonest, you do have to have a good memory for what you've said!!
(if I have ever said that I was 6' with a stunning figure and a face to die for...I can't remember lol)

Hi Kim,
Vlad the sailor here!
I wear my heart on my sleeve too! lol always been like that really, though I have learned to cover it a little with (usually) a joke!

But I am honest so people do know the real me..... if they wish to! lol

Thanks, Rose, I'm not sure that I'm nice but I try to be fair and honest. My memory is not good enough to be dishonest!

Hi Rose , what ship where you on? Did we sail together ???? lol. Must admit , I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve , not sure if it,s a good or bad thing. Been through a few tough things with the help of people on here , but my problems are nothing compared to the things I see others on the boards having to deal with.Don,t think I can change , it wouldn,t feel honest. xx Kim x

I've been lucky and have made a few genuine friends through GR and have met most of them. The ones I haven't met I still regard as friends as they have been there for me through some difficult times as I hope I have been able to there for them.

Some of them have left GR but we are still in touch and still meet up.

I've been disappointed in a few people over the years but I'm lucky in that no one I would call a friend, rather than a board mate, has ever let me down. I hope they can say the same about me.

I don't think I'm any different in real life than how I am on here - a bit louder and I swear more - but other than that I yam wot I yam.

Hello Ellan, it is hard sometimes.
knowing people 'so well' on here and yet not really 'knowing them' at all........but then, that can be the same in 'real life' lol

Perhaps 99% of the people on this board only know that I (or any of you ) is what you 'see' of me....

For all you know I could be a 6'4", Moldovian sailor,
with a need to get in touch with his 'feminine side'!!

I write 'honestly' but sometimes I write as the girl I was 20 years ago (the one I still am inside) and not the 'me' I am now, older, fatter, greyer, frazzled from caring for first a mum and now a child, you do not see my 'real' life unless I choose to tell it.

You do not know that I am not how you picture me to be, physically, though some of you know (or can guess) my inner thoughts and feelings,
perhaps even better than my oldest and dearest friend!

Very few on here mean to 'deceive' but unless you know the person off the board as well as on, you cannot truly know them. They are what you perceive (read, imagine, hope for) them to be,

Hope this makes sense!
