Ok.. I'll get all the info!!

Betty, he's about 25 or so, still young enough to have his hair all gelled absolutely solid, but old enough to have bought a house (they had just moved in when I last went a couple of months ago) with his girlfriend, and talking about how much they were going to need to save to have the wedding they wanted!!

A lot younger than my own two sons, lol!! ;0)) Sigh.. where does the time go?? I will behave, I promise!!

Clare
have just had a quick look and doesn't seem to be able to give subtitles I'm afraid. Will have a good look later though.

I have a lovely man in PC World, Jen.. I'm sure he must groan every time he sees me, as he has to break everything down to very basic non techno jargon for me!! But he tends to be good at understanding what I'm after!! I have a sneaky suspicion I remind him of an eccentric and dotty middle-aged rellie lol He is so sweet, and patient, so I always buy quite a lot from him!

But Bob, you wouldn't be watching through a TV set it would be through a PC screen and that isn't plugged into ariel socket. or am I getting mixed up?

As far as I am aware to watch tv OR any kind of video played through a tv set you need a Tv Licence.
I was told (in the old days) that if the set uses the aerial socket, and tuner to lock onto a machine like the bbc B and spectrum, even, you needed the licence. so methinks you are on dodgy ground, in the UK to watch TV, on ANY machine, without the necessary paperwork!!!

Betty, I'd need to wait for hubby to come home to go all technical!!.

I bought it from Tesco.. the lad there showed me a couple, and there were about 4 at different prices. The make is Pinnacle. It has a USB attachment.. you just follow the very basic instructions, and plug the USB cable in when it tells you to. Quite simple, even for me. The little aerial that came with it didn't work for me, so I went out and got a Technik one, it wasn't all that expensive, but did boost up the overall cost. I do have a wireless broadband connection already, so you would need to check that out if you haven't got it.. I'm not sure if it is a requirement..

Good luck,

Hi Jenny,

Why are you watching TV anyway if your in France, I would never be seen watching TV if I was there. I would be out all the time looking at everything such a lovely place to.

Betty

Jenny

Jenny Report 4 Oct 2007 16:46

lol I know what you mean Daff. Shoe shopping has lost it's appeal ever since the bungeon arrived....lol

If I can do it...anybody can. I had a problem with that my Phone point and my tv were not in the same room but managed to find wireless ethernet plug to sort. The guy in Dixons was useless!

Jenny

Jenny Report 4 Oct 2007 16:43

Probably not worth it Betty if you just want to watch at home, Daffs way would be better for you.

Worth it for me 'cos French TV is cr*p ;o)
