No bananas during the war. I remember my 1st banana I thought it would be crisp like an apple and took a bite- got a shock when I found it was soft. |

Hi Christine ,that reminds me of someone I worked with who got his tie caught in a shredder and he had to shout for help cos he couldnt reach the switch to turn of the machine,someone had to cut his tie off to "save "him,wasnt funny but we ended up laughing hysterically at him. |

I work at a primary school in year 4 and we are learning about world war 2-when the children have finished their topics on it we are going to organise a victory party for them providing food that was eaten in the 1940's-now, because I am soooooooo young I do not know what was avaialble then-any ideas please? |
