Whirley

what is annoying is the person who jumped from the window will be given VIP treatment in the hospital for all the wrong reasons!

May Rhys rest in peace and may his parents find the strength to deal with this.

I hope the mindless murderer who did this crime gets the suitable punishment.

Apparently, the police went to arrest their prime suspect and he jumped out his bedroom window...now in hospital.....

I must admit to having seen this thread title and stayed away as it was too upsetting! I agree that his parents have dealt with it with DIGNITY!!

It is so sad that a young life has been taken by criminals intent on mindless violence.

There is a harsh thread on the Chat board about it but I did agree with one comment

Shame on those that keep silent!

Criminals rely on SILENCE and hopefully in this case they will not have that priviledge!

A Merseyside Police spokesman said a 15-year-old boy was arrested shortly after midday.

The new arrest means six people are now in custody - the others are two girls aged 15 and 18 , one 16-year-old boy and two boys aged 19.

A 15-year-old boy, arrested in Norris Green on Friday, was released on bail this morning. Two others, aged 14 and 18, who were arrested last week had already been bailed.

Police also confirmed that they have traced a potentially key witness. A force spokesman said a woman seen pushing a pram near the Fir Tree pub minutes before Rhys was killed has been spoken to by detectives, but did not release details of what she had told them.

Assistant Chief Constable Patricia Gallan said today's arrest and releases of suspects were part of "a dynamic and fast-moving investigation".

The developments come after police revealed they have obtained CCTV footage of the killer.

Add this point ... I have to say my heart felt sympathies go to Rhys Jones parents, and I say with the same heart felt conviction, if it was my son that was the perputrator ..........Well will leave it to how you would all feel

If they have a parent or not they have an adult responsible, ...... but beside the point ..... at what age does society deside they know what they are doing, or do we keep making excuse for them ............ believe me, been there, done that, worn the T shirt, watched the dvd, lived the life ....... etc etc At some point we all have to say you knew what you were doing, now you did the crime do the time.

The Law was changed a few years ago to "" Ban ALL handguns"" from our streets.
The ONLY guns that were confiscated belonged to legal and licenced users..

Has it made any real difference to street gun crime?
I think not.
MY view is that ANYONE regardless of age that carries/uses (without authority),a REAL gun whether for a crime or not, should be jailed for life..
any one using a replica/modified toy for a crime should be severely dealt with..

such a waste of a young life, his family has my sympathy...

I don't think anyone is necessarily blaming the parent/s Denise, after all we don't even know if the person responsible for the killing has a parent/s.

I have a son that is now 21, but from the age of 14 try as I might, he did what he wanted to, he knew what he was doing and he knew right from wrong. you cannot always blame the parent

Someone somewhere must know something. If only they have the courage to speak up and help ease the parents heartache.

Such a very sad situation, an 11 year old, shot, words fail me. His parents and brother's lives have been ruined, and it doesn't stop there, Granparents, aunts uncles cousins, and friends, are all deeply affected. They will not be able to beieve what has happened.

I wouldn't like to think why he was shot, could be a dare, or because he was wearing an Everton shirt, or maybe he just in the wrong place at the wrong time, who knows, I doubt the killer of Rhys really knows why he did it either.

I do know that there are some children who haven't any parents who give a fig what there children do, until something like this happens, then they will say, he, didn't listen to me, what could I do. It's about time some parents started to actually parent there children, to love them, nurture them, and to guide them through life, instead of just looking after there own needs.

Of course the parents of the person who killed Rhys, maybe someone who did care for there son and has no idea what there son has done, if this is the case then this parent has my sympathy to, to know your son killed child, must also be an awful trauma for any parent to go through to.

We must start to look at children who do these things instead of letting them roam the streets like wild animals, that is what some are like.

I am looking to work with children, like these, to give them an insight as to what family life should be like, and hopefully help them to break the chain, so when they have children, they will love and cherish them.
