George, so sorry to read about your neighbour Dave, he sounds another one salt of the earth who does'nt deserve what is happening to him. I am sure you will help him though this as best you can.

When I bought my house 20 years ago I had lovely neighbours and we all got on well, but over the years many have moved on to sheltered housing or died, and others have moved on too, so there are lots of new people who are so unfriendly and selfish re parking etc, also more houses are being let to students which often means 4 extra cars per house, and noise etc. I am not living at my house at the mo, for various reasons, but altho I would like to move back, I don't think I will feel happy or as safe as I was when I first moved, might put my own up for rent too and find somewhere nicer.
Good neighbours are such a blessing.

I have lovely neighbours. There is a woman further up the street and a man further down the street who everybody in the street hates, all their own faults. On the whole, although I live in a town, our road has a very "village community" atmosphere about it. Everyone is willing and helpful to everyone else. Everybody is willing to look after each other's kids and do the school walk etc., the elderdly are watched over and kept safe and so on.

I like living here. I was born in this house 44 years ago, and as far as I am concerned they can carry me out feet first in a box. If I moved house it wouldn't be by choice.

I consider myself to be very lucky and priveledged to have such lovely people around me.

ps I'm Dianne Goldstraw. I did try changing my surname but it hasn't worked!!

I cant be bothered with neighbours either side of me. Both are odd and only speak when they feel like it,
My neighbour across the road is lovely but the family next to her are a pain in the rectum...he is a security alarm man and his is the only one in the street thats always going off,
I would like to live in a cemetary,,,,,how peaceful would that be,,?

I live in a semi, my neighbour I'm attached to is gr8, she is nearly retired and lives on her own, so we help her out with stuff and she has our phone number if she gets scared in the night etc (we live in middle of no where) neighbours in the next lot of semis on other side, are SNOBS they say hello when they feel like it and ignore you the next, so I don't bother with them now..........I call the wife, Mrs Bucket.....

Lol Jax, control them rabbits!! I had neighbours from HELL at the last house on one side, so we moved as it was a nightmare. She had 5 kids (4 were boys with mohicans!) and they even stole my daughters bike, she was only 5! Here, we know one side to say hello to, and get on with the other side really well. Next door but one are a bit of a pain, the woman is ok but lets all the trouble makers congregate outside her house (she wants to be popular lol!), so we have to walk past them, bleedin asbo brats. Some lovely people on this street thank God, just one or two families are a bit dodgy.
