Hi Jenny, Neither of my 2 had the vaccination on medical advice!! My eldest had meningitis at 8 days old, so as it affects the brain...were told not to let him have it. He's now a strapping 23 year old. My younger one ...now a whopper of a 19 year old, had a blockage in his brain that affected his breathing...so same advice...no jabs. The only thing both mine got was chickenpox....thankfully :0))) If I hadn't been advised not to....I would have had them immunised.

My 3 eldest children were all vaccinated in the late 50's and early 60's. The girls had there Rubella at school in the 70's when a lot of girls were having it done. My youn gest had the tripple in 1972... but I had not realised that was what he had had. I told the doctor that I did not want him having it... fears were already frightening us all about it. BUT the doctor said.... 'he has already had it!' ;-0) All that worry for nothing. My eldest girl 6 at the time, and my baby 10 months, had a bad dose of WHOOPING COUGH! 1964. my eldest had had the jab but the baby had not. Oh boy did we have fun in our house. It is NOT a pretty thing. The poor children cough until they are sick... and they get no sleep. I could go on, but I won't. As for the triple jab...... I cannot understand why the government does not allow parents what they want.... to have three injections. It would ease their fears and more children would be made safe. Deanna X

I had mine vaccinated against whooping cough in spite of the asthma in the family. The doctors advice was that the risk from whooping cough far outwieghted the risk from any side effects. Both my kids are fine.

There is asthma in our family too, but our eldest three were all vaccinated before the scares, so no:4 had all her jabs too, as the others were fine with theirs. Today, with all the publicity, I would be torn too.

I have just read that there is an outbreak of Measles in South Yorkshire. All children between 3 months and 12 years. Mine all had the MMR vaccination, but two didnt have the Whooping Cough one, because at the time they say they didnt advise it if there was Asthma in the family. They both went on to have Whooping Cough, my Daughter very badly. Jenny.
