Well I think no matter what age you are, you should wear what you like, what you feel suits you. Betty

Hayley, turning 40 does not mean you have to change your style overnight, and certainly not to wearing lisle stockings and tweed skirts! Dress how you dressed yesterday and last week, and last month.

The other thing to remember is that on your 40th birthday you're only 1 day older than the day before! So why change things at all Sue x

Don't you mean mutton dressed as lamb?:-) I suppose you're right but I hate being told what to do. I 'm 55 and suppose I dress 'appropriately' for my age but that doesn't mean we can't be fashionable and choose those fashions that we like Sue x

irrespective of age you should dress to please yourself do you really need magazines to tell you what to wear, whatever you feel comfortable in, and feel good in is probably right for you. some women, and also men, sometimes look like mutton dressed as lamb, but there again its personal choice. there i am trying to be sensible if that's possible.

You are only 39 and 1 day old, so wear what feels right for you. As long as you don't get arrested for indecent exposure:)))))))
