You don't have to whisper Linda, just shout it out loud 'I don't like Elvis ' I could never stand the man ! or all the stupid impersonators coming out of the woodwork. To me they are complete 'Nutters' Also I can't stand 'Plum in the Mouth ' Cliff Richard who also tried to be another Elvis, I am glad Hal mentioned Slim Whitman ' Now there was real talent ' I could mention many more who sadly are not with us today. |

Cliff was great (in his own mind) pity hardly anyone else thought so. I always thought he tried too hard to keep up with younger and better singers. Maddy |

Don't worry Caz at the risk of being stoned, I think that's the age group it appeals to. (Ducks down behind wall) Linda |

I NEVER DID like Elvis.... my sister however, was so in love with the man that she used to dress and look like him. I have to admit though that he was a nice man, good looking and caring. And his songs now make me smile, but that I believe is nostalgia. Deanna X |

I am an Elvis fan from the beginning. However I have no desire to visit Gracelands (my brother gave me a photo of Elvis grave taken in 1978) - I passed it on. The majority of his films were a load of rubbish (blame it on Col Parker) but gave pleasure. I absolutely loathe the impressionists (with the exception of Freddie Starr) - I could close my eyes with Freddie and think it was Elvis. I only thought he was good to look at in his early thirties. Never understood Priscilla's parents allowing a 14 yr old to live in Gracelands - that was weird. Even the big entertainers used to say he was magic on stage and I think because he could sing most anything, ballads, blues, rock and roll and hymns he attracted a wider audience than most. My children insist the only films they saw as children were Elvis. They are telling porky pies - they did see others! |

I'm on your list, but, to be fair, he only came to my attention in the 1970's when he was all blobby. Tina x |
